Let's smile!

1. Money And Friends

"Since he lost his money, half his friends don't know him any more"

"And the other half ?"

"They don't know yet that has lost it"

2. The River Isn't Deep

A stranger on horse back came to a river with which he was unfamiliar. The traveller asked a youngster if it was deep.

"No", replied the boy, and the rider started to cross, but soon found that he and his horse had to swim for their lives.

When the traveller reached the other side he turned and shouted : "I thought you said it wasn't deep ?"

"It isn't", was the boy's reply : "it only takes grandfather's ducks up to their middles !"
3. A Cow Grazing

Artist : "That, sir, is a cow grazing"

Visitor : "Where is the grass ?"

Artist : "The cow has eaten it"

Visitor : "But where is the cow ?"

Artist : "You don't suppose she'd be fool enough to stay there after she'd eaten all the grass, do you ?"
4. Great Mystery

Newsboy : "Great mystery! Fifty victims! Paper, mister ?"

Passerby : "Here boy, I'll take one" (After reading a moment) "Say, boy, there's nothing of the kind in this paper. Where is it ?"

Newsboy : "That's the mystery, sir. You're the fifty first victim".
 5. The Hen And The Dog

Jones : "Sorry, old man, that my hen got loose and scratched up your garden"

Smith : "That's all right, my dog ate your hen"

Jones : "Fine! I just ran over your dos and killed him".

6. She's My Wife

One of the guest turned to a man by his side to criticize the singing of the woman who was trying to entertain them.

"What a terrible voice! Do you know who she is ?"

"Yes", was the answer. "She's my wife"

"Oh, I beg your pardon. Of course, it isn't her voice, really. It's the stuff she has to sing. I wonder who wrote that awful song ?"

"I did", was the answer.

7. Don't Be So Conceited

Smith : "I keep hearing the word 'Idiot' - I hope you are not referring to me"

Jones : "Don't be so conceited. As if there are no other idiots in the world!"

Your Smile Everyday

I saw you today, I again saw your smile
Something that remains with me for a while

Your smile comes to me like a morning bliss,
which gives me the joy i dont want to miss

Your smile is so bright,
It lights up my night(sadness)

Your smile is like a flowing river,
which always gives me cosy shivers

A smile that carries a special warmth,
that dries up my tears & ushers charms

Your smile speaks many silent words,
So sweet my ears never heard

O my friend I just wanna say,
Just give me a smile everyday.

Smile Is A Sign Of......

A smile is a sign of love
A smile is a sign of care
A smile tells how much to others
You are important and also dear

A smile is a sign of cheer
A smile is a sign of trust
A smile shows how you can
Be happy even in hard crust

A smile is a sign of joy
A smile is a sign of hope
A smile teaches you how you can
Remove the clouds of mope

For nothing but only a smile
Takes away your pain and trial
And pick your trouble's pile
And let you smile, smile and smile.

A Luxurious Presence

When we planned a weekend away together, we were seeking to find a place where we could escape from the business of our day-to-day lives. We needed to go to a place that would allow us to put things back into proper perspective, focus on our lives as a couple and to examine our priorities.

After we checked in, our first interaction with another guest was our encounter with the man and his fancy car in the circular driveway in front of the Mansion. He was blocking the narrow driveway, car parked, door wide opened. We could have easily continued along, if only he would have closed the door to his car.
The concierge ran up to our car window with a sense of urgency and a hint of authority uttering that was something wrong with the hydraulics system of the car. We quietly sat in our car, observing the man with his broken down, door wide opened Jaguar.

My husband is a skilled auto technician with a good heart who has worked on the finest of cars. I knew that my husband was fully present in our quest to create space where we could focus on our lives together when he chose not to engage in the stranger's situation or try to rescue him.

Several minutes passed before the car owner approached us with an apology. He explained that the car was inoperable and that he could not close his door, as his hands had gotten dirty so he could not touch his car door to close it to allow us to get by.

The man with the broken down Jaguar's reality was clear to us, the cleanliness of his car door should take priority over our ability to exit the driveway at this time.

My husband's reaction was calm. He went to his toolbox in the back of our car, pulled out a clean rag, handed it to the man and suggested that it could be used to close the door so that we could be on our way. The man seemed a bit hesitant to accept such a simple solution to what seemed to be a very difficult situation for him, but he accepted the rag, closed his door and watched with a rather puzzled look on his face as we drove away.

We arrived at the building where we would stay for night and agreed to head out for a walk and some lunch after dropping off our bags. Our room was on the lower level of the building. It was well appointed with amenities, spacious and bit dark as it lacked the capacity to allow natural light to come in.
We noticed the note card on the bed almost immediately. It said that the resort as environmentally conscience and would only wash sheets every other day, unless otherwise requested, in an effort to conserve water.

We both agreed that we were happy to be in such and environmentally conscience place, as conservation was something we both are compassionate about.

We held hands as we walked and discussed the lessons of Eckhart Tolle that we had engaged in earlier as we set out to explore the place of luxury.
We checked out the spa, to see what it offered as a means of "getting away from it all." It was a busy place, filled with people dressed in fancy white bathrobes and black plastic slippers where fresh towels abound. "So this is what luxury looks like", I found myself thinking. I refilled my reusable water bottle while were there and we were on our way.

After observing the spa, we found an outside café that seemed like a great spot to stop for some lunch. While we waited for our salads, we talked about how we were both surprised that the same facility which washed sheets every other day rather than every day in an effort to be environmentally conscience, did not have a place to recycle all those plastic cups in the spa.

As we looked out over the golf course, we wondered if they kept the greens looking so lovely without the use of chemicals. Our shared effort to live with as little impact to our planet as possible was the topic of conversation during our lunch together.

We examined the options available in order to make the best choice possible with regards to the enormous amounts of left over salad on our plates when we were done eating. Our waitress explained that people complained if large quantities of food were not served. She also explained that almost no one finishes those large quantities.

We asked if they composted. We found out they do not. We discussed how using the restaurant's disposable container to take the leftovers with us would create additional waste beyond what we already were looking at. We resolved to not take the leftovers and to bring our own reusable container from now on when we go out to eat.

We made the most of the rest of our trip to the luxury spa. We used their facilities, dined at their restaurants and did our best to hold true to our own beliefs along the way. We learned that one man's luxury differs greatly from another's. The amenities at the spa that were placed there for our comfort in the first place, were the same things that made us uncomfortable. We do not like to support, create or contribute to avoidable waste. We did not give careful thought to what we were doing when we arranged to come to the luxury resort. We focused only on finding a place that we could rest comfortably and be together. When we came across the luxury spa's website, it seemed perfect at the time.

Would we go back to the luxury spa? Absolutely not, but not because they did not provide everything they promised. We will not go back because when we slowed down to think about it, if we were really present when we sought to find the perfect "getaway" spot, we would have recognized that the luxury spa was not a place we would want to support. This was a place that would put any environmentally conscience person outside of their comfort zone, us included.

We did however get exactly what were seeking in the first place. What we sought, we did not find by the golf course, in a fancy white robe or even inside the resort's swanky castle. What we got, was our return to presence, something we possessed all along and had lost sight of. We learned from our experience at the resort and left with a new appreciation for what comfort and luxury really mean to us.

Most importantly we will remember that the only place we will ever need to go to experience what we sought in the first place, is within.

Warm heart

It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
***

Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
***

Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, and the romance in a relationship- and find out you still care for that person.
***

A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.
***

When the door of happiness closes, another opens but oftentimes we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
***
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
***

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

***
Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.
***

There are things you'd love to hear that you would never hear from the person whom you would like to hear them from, but don't be so deaf as not to hear it from the one who says it from his heart.
***
Never say goodbye if you still want to try - never give up if you still feel you can go on - never say you don't love a person anymore if you can't let go.
***
Love comes to those who still hope although they've been disappointed- to those who still believe although they've been betrayed, need to love those who still love although they've been hurt before.
***

It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone - but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
***

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem
bright. Hope you find the one that makes you smile.
***

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real! Hope you dream of that special someone.
***

Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.
***

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy and enough money to buy me gifts.
***

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the person, too.
***

A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.
***

The beginning of love is to let those we love be just themselves, and not twist them with our own image - otherwise, we love only the  inflection of ourselves we find in them.
***

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
***

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.
***

Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss and ends with a tear.
 ***

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
***

When you were born, you were crying and everyon around you was smiling. Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Learn How to Smile

One of the first ways to a happy and positive life is as easy as learning how to smile. It sounds simple enough but there are some days where it all just gets a bit too much and smiling is the last thing we want to do.

Sometimes it is the simple act of smiling that can change your day. If you put on a positive face and approach the world smiling, then similar people will be attracted to you. Think about the idea that like attracts like…or as a friend of mine says ‘light attracts light’.

On the days when you really just can’t be bothered, here are some things that may put a smile back on your dial.

• Go to a pet store – Puppies and Kittens do wonders for a bluesy mood. Go to your local pet store and ask if you can play with the puppies or pat the kittens. Your day will feel brighter immediately.

• Shopping! If you’ve got a bit of extra cash, go do a bit of crazy retail therapy. Go buy some bright pink shoes, or some super fluffy boots that you think are completely outrageous and that you don’t know whether you will eve wear them. It’ll take your mind off things immediately and showing off your new purchases to your friends is always fun.

• Having an afternoon nap. When we were younger it was something we were made to do, but now if we could take a nap during the day, we would. And sometimes it is the best thing if your feeling a bit down. A lot of the time it is tiredness that affects our moods, so having a half hour rest could be very therapeutic.

• Go for a drive. One of my most favourite things to do at the moment is putting my favourite music on in the car and going for a drive. Just you, your thoughts and the open road. It gives you a chance to contemplate things which reduces worrying.

• Think back to a time when someone made you feel really special. It may have been a boyfriend who bought you flowers, or when you got pampered by your pals. Think back to this time, remember how special you are and feel the warm fuzzies take over.

Now you know how to smile, make sure you keep it bright and healthy with the 'Reach Access Daily Flosser'. It’s the easiest way to keep your teeth (and smile) beautiful. Available from leading supermarkets and chemists.

How to Smile

"Frown and you frown alone, but smile and the whole world smiles with you." The whole world? Not just any smile will do, though. Here's how to develop a genuine, infectious smile that can make a bad date turn good, seal a business deal, and help you make friends wherever you go.

1. Practice good hygiene. If you've got bits of food stuck in your teeth people might point it out to you and you might get embarrassed. People may indeed say you have an infectious smile, but they might be talking about actual infections. It should go without saying, but regularly brushing your teeth and making sure your breath is fresh and teeth are unstained is a good idea. Visit the dentist for a polishing or use a whitening product, and take care of your lips to prevent chapping. When you smile people will inevitably look at your mouth, so following these considerations will help you make a better impression, and, more importantly, a healthy mouth will make you feel more confident about smiling.

2. Get comfortable with smiling. Many people are a little nervous about smiling. They don't think their smile looks good, or they think that smiling makes them look unprofessional or vulnerable. It's true that a smile does show a little vulnerability, but that's part of what makes it so powerful. No matter how professional, intelligent, or in control you think a serious face (or worse, a frown) makes you appear, people almost always respond better to a smile.

3. Think happy thoughts. The easiest way to a great smile is to be happy. You can be happy all the time, but not everybody is; when you are not, you can think happy thoughts instead. Think about something or someone that you care about, or think about a joke that you just find hilarious. Remarkably, when you're feeling down, smiling can help cheer you up, even if you have to coax a smile out at first.

4. Smile with your eyes. When we think of smiling, we think of the mouth, but the eyes may actually be more essential to a warm, genuine smile. Smiling with your eyes is difficult to describe--in general your cheekbones lift slightly and your eyebrows dip a little--but when you see it, you know it: it's that look of your eyes "lighting up" or "twinkling." To get a feel for how to make your eyes smile, get in front of a mirror and practice smiling, but concentrate only on your eyes. You may find it helpful to cover the lower part of your face with a piece of paper. Play around with it a bit, and you'll find that you can make your mouth smile when your eyes aren't smiling, and you can also smile only with your eyes. When your eyes do smile, remember how it feels, which muscles are working and how. With practice, you'll be able to smile with your eyes at will.

5. Develop your smile. Don't particularly care for your smile? It's a common complaint, and while it's true that any smile is better than a frown, it's also true that some smiles look better than others. What's your best smile? One way to find out is to look through pictures of yourself. Many people who consider themselves unphotogenic are plagued by bad smiles in front of the camera, but just about everybody has at least one picture in which they just look great, with a perfectly natural, contagious smile. Find that picture and focus on what your face is doing. Then practice in front of a mirror until you get it just right. Keep practicing, and pay attention to how that great smile feels, so that you'll be able to replicate it without looking in a mirror. Soon it will become second nature, and you'll likely find that you'll look more photogenic in your next batch of pictures.

6. If you want to improve your smile, look at pictures of smiles that you believe are beautiful. Also, think good thoughts and remember that you are beautiful (inside and out). Your smile is bound to look better if you feel good about yourself!www.wikihow.com/Smile

What is the Meaning of Life?

Do you sometimes wonder what the purpose of life is? If you are not sure, you may be looking at life the wrong way. You may have a view of life as a path. However, there is another way to see life. Read on to find out what that way is.
Let’s first take a look at the conventional way to understand life as a path. Do you see your life as a path? That’s an image that is often used in the realm of spirituality personal growth. I’m guilty of it myself.
This implies that we are struggling towards a pinnacle. We overcome hardship and climb up and up towards…well, towards what, exactly? In the spiritual realm we might say that we climb towards enlightenment, wisdom, awakening, or…what? In the realm of personal growth we might imagine that we are climbing towards, success, wealth,  personal fulfillment, or …what?
We are pulled through life by promises like a donkey by carrots. We  are always moving towards that pinnacle. First we go to kindergarten and then we look forward to primary school. We are told how wonderful it will be when we finally go to college. And then to university. Finally, as good citizens we embark on a career, a relationship, maybe a family. It seems that we are at last approaching the pinnacle of our life. (One of our readers, Jonathan Meads, sent me a funny and enlightening cartoon clip that illustrates this. Do have a look at it here.)
What pinnacle? More often than not, the pinnacle turns out to be redundancy, or illness. And then – one day the sun goes behind a cloud – and we die. Just like that.
Now, tell me again – where was that pinnacle? Did I miss it?
The strange thing is that for a long time the pinnacle seems to be in the future. Just out of reach. Then, from one moment to the next, it seems to be in the past. You’re suddenly beyond it. You’re a ‘has-been’. And you can’t quite remember what the pinnacle should have been. All you know is that you’ve missed it.
That’s pretty depressing, isn’t it? But, stop! What if life isn’t a path?
What if life is a dot?
Yes, I said dot.
A dot doesn’t have dimension. There is no before and after. The dot is now. This moment. Now.
What if this moment right now is the pinnacle of our life? What if each moment is the pinnacle? That is, if we actually live it and don’t miss it through dreaming of the future.
What if the smell of fresh ground coffee is the pinnacle? What if the hug at the door as you go to work is the pinnacle?
It would change things, wouldn’t it?
We would focus on what we enjoy, and not on moving up in our career. We would surf more, and dance more, and sing more, and laugh more, and love more, and hug more.
We would feel the wind in our hair. We would watch the moon rise. We would bask in the sun. We would roll in the mud. We would play in the surf.
We would kick up our heels and feel free. Free to be a bit wild. Even zany. We would live with abandon.
We would enjoy that dot. The dot that is life.

Let’s have a conversation:
What do you think? How is your life? Are you on a path or on a dot?

Not fixed, the distant silhouette a shimmering any color innocent too. I glimpse the boat on the river suspended particles. Sunday afternoon sunshine. The children threw herd laughing eyes back on the smooth green grass hillside levees. Silver colored clothes were worn brown sun wind. Despite increased appetite was launched only a little, rough dry August day ... But the more violently it caused by someone other skeptical look at a child's eyes. Does the old days, he does not heal bottom pants is sure to hit up the search for the hot summer afternoon? Does green chasms between land of sun, still want to listen to the flute of soaring kites flying high - send skeptical color legend dreams ... commercial trade is only a childhood far away ...

Who knows after that hard like rice and clothing, they smiled rather the anxiety and grief. O go fly kites high winds no children. Fly to the new horizon May uttered startled look down. Far then, set a headline piece in the sky baby blankets scented kitchen chickenpox.

The Story of Life

Sometimes people come into your life
And you know right away that they were meant to be there.
To serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson,
or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become.
You never know who these people may be,
(Possibly your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost, lover, or even a complete stranger),
but when you lock eyes with them you know at that very moment they will.
Everything happens for a reason.
Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity
all occurs to test the limits of your soul.
Without these small tests, whatever they may be,
life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere.
It would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who affect your life and the success and downfalls you experience,
help to create who you are and who you become.
Even the bad experiences can be learned from.
In fact, they are probably the most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you, or breaks your heart,
forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious when you open your heart.
If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally,
not only because they love you, but because in a way,
they are teaching you to love and how to open your heart and eyes to things.
Make every day count.
Appreciate every moment and take from those moments everything that you possibly can,
for you may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people that you have never talked to before, and actually listen.
Let yourself fall in love, break free, and set your sights high.
Hold your head up because you have every right to.
Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself,
for if you don't believe in yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.
You can make of your life anything you wish.
Most importantly, create your own life and then go out and live it with absolutely NO regrets.
And learn a lesson in life each day that you live.

Friends and the gift they give us

Good friends enrich our lives in so many ways. Through a magical combination of similarities and differences, friends offer us the opportunity to know ourselves as we are and help us grow into who we want to be. Our similarities attract us to each other, comforting us with familiarity when we see ourselves in them. When we are drawn to those we admire, the same recognition is at work, unconsciously acknowledging that these people possess qualities that we ourselves possess. By acting as mirrors, friends help us define who we are by reflecting our selves back to us.

Friends also help us know ourselves through our differences. Differences allow us to see other options and make choices about who we want to be. Sometimes we are drawn to those who appear to be our opposites, and we learn to accept the parts of them we love and the parts of them that don’t resonate with us, thus allowing us a valuable learning experience. By expanding our understanding to include others’ experiences, friends help us accept others. By understanding when someone’s life differs from our own, we can learn about ourselves in contrast. There are times when we see in friends what we don’t like about ourselves. That mirror reflection may be hard to take, but a good friend helps us find ways we can change and supports us in that choice.
Part of the joy of friendship is the feeling that we are accepted just the way we are, with no need to change. It is a gift they give us, and one we can give back every day. Ultimately, we choose friends because they make us feel good about ourselves and life. Through tears and difficulties, friends help us find the laughter. When we find those special people who offer us that perfect combination of comfort and stimulus to grow, we are very fortunate. Friends, those wonderful companions that walk with us through life, help us define and refine who we are and who we choose to be every day.

Calling all Angels

You'll not walk alone
When the call-up comes 'round
When your commander-in-chief orders
Troops on the ground
With a salute of respect
You'll say, Yes, Sir, we'll give our best
Your training takes over; all options withdrawn
Your mission? the ultimate test
You're the salt of the earth
Of America's Armed Forces
Whether on the sea, on land, or in the air
Prevailing without question; you'll finish the course
Above all; keep this thought with you; Americans care
Dear daughter, dear husband
Dear brother, dear son
We'll wrap you in prayer
'Til your long journey's done
Do not fret, do not give a thought
Remember; angels can tread
Where humans cannot
From the corners of glory
God's heavenly host
Are being summoned, briefed, sent
Where they're needed most
You may hear the flutter of their wings
You may feel their touch so slight
They're in the service of the King of Kings
To see you through the days and nights
Nine-One-One- Angels
Our plea is urgent once more
Calling all angels
Carry out your duties as before

Mother’s Day Love Quotes

There is no relationship that exists in this world that is as pure and gentle as a mother-child relationship. It is truly priceless. From the day you were born, you have seen her bestowing all the love upon you for nothing in return at all. Nobody ever can replace a mother. The toil and hardships that she has faced to let you grow peacefully is unimaginably big. The sacrifices she has done for your prosperous future are beyond belief. However, she never complained and she went on being that sweet mother of yours. Actually the legend of mother’s day is centuries old. It was the Greeks who first celebrated the mother’s day as an honor to Rhea, the mother of all gods. Later during the 1660’s Christians celebrated the 4th Sunday of Lent as the mothering Sunday, honoring all mothers of England. However, it was in the year 1914, when the American president Woodrow Wilson proclaimed every second Sunday of May as a national holiday officially declaring a Mother’s Day. This is an ode to all the mothers of this world. Mother’s Day is celebrated to honor all the mothers and an expression of gratitude for the hardships they had gone through. Say your love with quotes.

An Angel's Smile

Somewhere, there is someone who dreams of your smile and finds in your presence that life is worthwhile. So when you are lonely, remember it's true; somebody, somewhere is thinking of you.  Anon.

I thought this was a very sweet quote. It reminded me of my mother's smile. My mother passed away several years ago but I still remember her smile and it makes me feel good every time I think of it.
I don't think we realize the power of a smile. Yesterday I was feeling a little down and so I decided to go for a walk in the early morning. There is a lovely walking path near where I live, with lots of trees and wild flowers and water alongside. I was particularly touched by how many people I met along the path who said "good morning" with a big smile.
They made me feel that no matter what was going on in my world, life was indeed good. I was truly uplifted by the smiles along my path.
When I arrived at the end of the trail, suddenly I was all alone and so I sat down on the bench next to the water and looked up at the sky and into the clouds. There in front of me were two perfect ANGEL FEATHERS. I lifted my head up a little higher and there was a huge glorious ANGEL.
That really made me smile, and smile I did all the way back home.
So today, remember that your smile just might make a real difference in someone's life.
Have a beautiful day and remember to KEEP SMILING and the next person you encounter will feel TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL.
